Is a Bugaboo Bee Plus really an umbrella buggy?

Am toying with the idea of buying the new Bee Plus as have an old Bugaboo Frog (lovely pram - very fond of it) but need a smaller one for holidays/use in car etc etc. Have kind of fallen for the Bee Plus because baby can still face me and really like the quality of Bugaboo. But my dh says we'll just end up buying a Maclaren anyway as it's not quite small enough - what do you think?

The Bugaboo Bee Plus weighs 7.7kg and is L 88.9 x W 45.7 x D 35.5 cm when folded.

Your average umbrella fold/Maclaren type buggy weighs about 6.5kg and is 104 x 33 x 29cm when folded. So longer but thinner.

You don't really need a maclaren, BTW, unless you want to use it for 2+ children in succession. Any umbrella fold buggy will do. You could even go for one of the ultra cheap ones which don't recline or come with a raincover - they tend to weigh about 4.5kg and be 111 x 20 x 16 cm.

Don't know - but mothercare have 10% off all pushchairs (applied at checkout) and if you use the code JLK you get another 10% off - so that might help your decision! x
