nipper 360 double question about fixed vs swivel front wheel

As far as i understand, they used to have fixed front wheel as standard. Then it was changed and newer models you can get to swivel so better in town as opposed to cross terrain type stuff?? is that right?

i really want to get a nipper to replace P&T and there is one advertised locally but is fixed wheel. fear it may be good as useless cause of this. any experiences? my P&T front wheel can lock into a fixed position - but when it does it is impossible to steer round street and corners. surely the nipper hasnt become so successful if it's unusable in everyday life?

any input welcome

I had a Nipper with a fixed front wheel and it was a truly fab pushchair.

Not in any way as good as useless. You just had to push down the back to lift the front wheel up around a corner - sounds a bit hideous written down but honestly very easy.

The thing about it as opposed to the 3-wheelers owned by all of my friends, was that it was so light that this was not in any way an issue.

Also it was so light (and strong) that you could genuinely push it up a mountain. We used to take it up the Peaks in Castleton when we had DC aged 3 and 1, one in backpack and one in Nipper.

The swivel one may be even better, but a cheap fixed wheel is a good buy if you are short of cash.

Oh sorry OP did you mean a double nipper? My experience was of a single one (double buggies spawn of the devil ) so that may make a difference.
