Hi there,

I think what I'm after is a 3 in one type thing- that is a pram that converts into a buggy (that can face either way)and also can have a car seat attached to it. Would prefer unisex colour (prob black) and 3 sturdy wheels. I'm on a fairly tight budget and would like something that will last from birth for as long as possible.

Any suggestions? There is such a lot out there I don't know where to start. May have to get good second hand if very expensive but any recommendations greatly appreciated thanks.

I have a 3 in one and it's lasted us from DD (3.6 now) through DS (now nearly 2). However they are bloody big and unwieldy. I live in the country and they are great offroad but for towns you may be better looking at a slimmer four wheeler. Ours is an urban detour (brown with furry footmuffs - in retrospect a fashion faux pas but hey, I was pregnant when I picked it!)

Recommend buying 2nd hand - I used ebay from local people - as I bought a 3 in 1 style pram (silver cross) but my dd grew out of the pram bit before I was ready to have her facing away so sold it again, losing all of a tenner. Of course I spent all that and more on my new fancy pram!

I have a nice one I'm selling at the moment, its a mamas and papas ultima 8 in 1. It doesnt have air wheels though, but it has a carrycot, pushchair seat that faces both ways, the matching car seat and base, and a stand so you can put the carrycot on and use it as a moses basket.
