Am I the first?

Hey second hand doesn't mean no pride!! It just means bloody sense!! IMO anyway. Everything we had for DS was second hand, everything - and am not ashamed.

5inthebed · 14/05/2010 23:06

You know what gets me? On Snukie website, there is one picture in the gallery. Gorgeous pram liner, would have cost £35+ and it is on some grubby Mothercare pram that cost £60. Now that makes me a very big buggy snob I'd rather have no liner and a more expensive pram

nicolamumof3 · 14/05/2010 23:07

exactly carrielou. i may look a state but my pram is spotless and always a good one! Same as the kids always turned out well and faces clean! thats another gripe of mine...filthy kids in filthy prams..why!!!

maxybrown · 14/05/2010 23:08

urgh me too

nicolamumof3 · 14/05/2010 23:08

and on that note im going to bed..in my egyptian cotton sheets and down duvet lol!!

horsemadgal · 14/05/2010 23:10

Well if I only had £150 I'd be well chuffed with that one. My niece certainly is.
She's not too proud to accept stuff from family/friends but unfortunately no car seats on the go, so she had to buy new for that anyways.

carrielou2007 · 14/05/2010 23:14

I've seen lately loads of the hauck buggies that are like a mamas and papas prammette but that come with a proper carrycot (that looks very odd plonked on top of the pushchair seat??) and they come with carseat, bag, footmuff etc and they are only about 200 for everything. I know that's another brand that's not in favour but they are good value for money if you want to buy new.

basl · 14/05/2010 23:23

Is it safe to come in? Wow that was very interesting reading. Just thought i would have one last peek before H nicks the pc and well i bet the person that brought the word Graco (sorry carrie) won't do that again in a hurry .
Maybe HMG your niece wanted that feeling of a shiny new pram and if you can afford why not if you can't no shame in fact sometimes something nice about a passed on item. We have a crib passed on from my sisters and it was a good one so will pass on again. All the kids have had a sleep in it. New mattress of course.
I think the m & P is a no go then better get saving for the MB

BexieID · 14/05/2010 23:36

Don't get me started on car seats, lol. I'm only sticking with the Graco as it was good enough for Tom.....

If I was to go back in time, I would get MC cabrio and base. Buggy wise, I would have got Micralite and carrycot.

nicolamumof3 · 15/05/2010 08:00

Morning all!

Thinking of your Neice what about a streety? i got mine bnib for about £70 with carseat and footmuff from babyvalue? def worth a go?

5inthebed · 15/05/2010 08:00

Morning everyone. Been up since the crack of dawn. Why do kids get up so early when they have friends over? They were up til nearly midnight as well!

Already shouted twenty + times for them to keep quiet.

nicolamumof3 · 15/05/2010 08:12

oh the joys 5in. Hope you manage to get a break later

carrielou2007 · 15/05/2010 09:02

Morning, is it safe to come on after graco-gate ?!

Lovely here today, going to the beach later I think.

5inthebed · 15/05/2010 09:04

Carrie

It's nice and sunny here today, but still a bit chilly. Going to go to the library where there is a story morning, then ds1s friend getting pikced up. Meant to be going to a birthday party later but really can't handle it.

horsemadgal · 15/05/2010 09:17

You hated the Streety Nicola.
Ny niece's baby is 13 months old, only a couple of months younger than my DS2 otherwise she could have had my MC and base etc.
But she was pleased (and still is!) with her shiny new buggy.
And yes marmite pram (like MacLarens!) love or loathe them, but was ideal for her and her budget.

BexieID · 15/05/2010 09:27

lol @ Graco-gate!

I've just listed more Micralite parts, bit sad to see my beloved in bits (this is the same person who was sad to see the old photo machine at work go. He was called Brian ).

I'm sat here expressing. Not getting as much as last time. Have one dead right hand holding the pump and typing left handed!

BexieID · 15/05/2010 09:52

Postman just posted Erins Boden bits I ordered through the letterbox. Noisy or what? Will open them up later, was just about to have a shower (I hope, last 2 days it's not worked!).

Disenchanted3 · 15/05/2010 10:51

Hiya,

just wanted to let you know littlelamb is back trying to sell buggies under the name 'smallishsheep'

please don't buy from her me and citybranch had hell with her and had to get the police involved, she lied so much and really cannot be trusted!

Disenchanted3 · 15/05/2010 11:13

sorry, not citybranch

GeekOfTheWeek · 15/05/2010 11:41

Hi all,

PMSL at the graco saga. I had a citisport many years ago when I took ds1 to spain. Actually quite liked it It was bloody expensive at the time (8 years ago/£90ish) too. Wouldn't have one now.

5inthebed · 15/05/2010 14:07

Thanks for letting us know Dis. Some people have the brass neck for anything. I didn;t even make the littlelamb/smallishsheep connection, but I am quite slow on the up take of these things.

nicolamumof3 · 15/05/2010 18:04

no further comments on graco-gate either! but would only say i'd sooner have £70 streety than £150. I thought your neice was expecting didn't realise she had that system! Sorry. Goodness about littlelamb thats not good

GeekOfTheWeek · 15/05/2010 19:12

Evening all,

I'm having a wine The diet will recommence tomorrow!

Is basl on the razzle tonight?

5inthebed · 15/05/2010 19:40

Yes I think she is. Will look forward to her drunken ramblings later

I'm having a large bottle glass of red tonight, deserved affter a horrid 7 days.

DaydreamDolly · 15/05/2010 19:48

Girls - sorry for starting Graco gate! Blame my mother, she bought the thing, no infact, let's blame DD, the little bugger darling loved it.
Even my sister said to me 'Errr, are you going to let your daughter be seen it that?!'
Am going to sell the Zia on Ebay but still haven't decided what is going to replace it... decisions decisions.
