Buggy Shops Surrey / Sussex

Can anyone recommend some good buggy shops in south Surrey or Sussex?

I live in Brighton and there are only a couple of small shops in fairly busy areas so you can't take the buggy out and try fitting in your car etc so I was hoping for a bigger, warehouse type place with a big car park out front.

Any ideas?

Dee

The only one I can think of is Toys R Us in Hove. The independent ones I used in Crawley and Dorking both closed down, although the shop in Uckfield may still be going (but not really a warehouse iirc)

I had no idea they did baby things. I'm passing by there today and will have a look. Only thing is they don't seem to do the Mountain Buggy and that's one of the buggies on my shortlist. Will check out the place in Uckfield too.

Anyone else with any ideas?

I'm in East Sussex too and have the same problem.

Here's the ones I've used:

Frills All round in Uckfield are very good, the staff are very friendly and helpful and will try the buggys out in your car for you too.

Further afield there's also the A3 Baby Barn in Chessington and Baby Nest in West Croydon.

Probably best to give the shops a call though to check which models they have in instock but I know that I saw the MB double in all three of these shops when I bought mine earlier this year.

Hope that helps a little.

The one in Haywards Heath did have a v large stock when I bought my pram there

no big warehouse ones that i know of (am in crawley)
tbh if you really want to try out a LOT, then make the trip up to the kiddicare warehouse in peterborough, it's totally worth the trip if you're into buggies. the entire top floor is jam-packed with every type under the sun

the Haywards Heath one is closed now too. thank the lord, the lady who ran it was actually really, really nasty
happy to take your money, and happy to tell you to f**k off if you had a problem with your purchase!

CMOTdibbler · 12/05/2010 10:52

oh yes, I know they were horrid -ordered my pram when I was 23 weeks, hadn't arrived by the time ds was born at 35 weeks, and dh had to stand in there and refuse to move until they lent us one. The whole thing didn't arrive until he was 10 weeks old, and they never apologised.

Which MB are you after?

I've seen quite a few bargains on the 2009 models

DeeLite · 12/05/2010 12:59

I'm not really sure. I'm thinking Swift but I probably need to look at other models and get a better idea of what's what. Do you have one? If so, any advice?

Hi, I have a MB Double Urban for my twins, would highly recommend it as it's a fantastic buggy.

I bought a 2009 version as you got 3yrs transferable warranty whereas with the 2010 you only get 1yrs non transferable warranty, I liked the idea of the 3yrs better

The MB Swift looks nice but wasn't an option for me as it's only a single.

Have a look on Youtube for the demonstrations of the two and see what you think. Baby Gizmo do some very good product demos, just select the one you want to see from the list

Good Luck.

That's really helpful - thanks very much. Thanks also for the tips on shops near Croydon. We need to do an IKEA trip some weekend so can combine with a trip to one of those shops.

No problem at all.

Baby Nest is very near to Ikea actually, it's just on the Lombard Roundabout and there are parking space to the side of the shop down an entrance alleyway. Don't forget that they will price-match most internet prices too.

The A3 Baby Barn is in the middle of a golf course in Chessington. You literally have to drive through the middle of the greens to get to it, so watch out for flying golf balls!!

I've recently seen new single 2009 Urban's and 2009 Swift's for £299 each so that'll give you an idea of their price at the moment.
