Pushchairs

calling all bee plus owners

Hi all,
Ive had my lurverly new bee plus for nearly a week, and the seat keeps getting stuck.
It goes up and down between the recline positions OK, but when I need to fold it right forward to get the seat off or fold rear facing, it wont go further forward than the vertical, its stuck solid. I go backwards and forwards with it, up and down, and then eventually (sometimes 1 minute, sometimes 5 sometimes 10) it just goes forwards as if there was never a problem. Its getting to be a real pain in the ass now as I cant use it rear facing (stood in car park in the rain for 15 minutes last week before finally very sheepishly put it in the front seat as I couldnt fold the seat forward to fold the pushchair.
Has anyone else had this problem? Have taken it back to mothercare, who agree its broken, however Bugaboo have said there isnt a problem with the folding mechanism. Mothercare have agreed to exchange for a new one since I've only just got it and it is clearly broken!

hmm. so much for bugaboo claiming "there is no problem with the seat mechanism"
Then they apparently wanted just to send me a new mechanism? I mean, I probably could fit it, but I shouldnt have to! Thank goodness for mothercare
very nice lady agreed to order me a new one and just replace. Otherwise I would be seriously fuming as its ridiculously hard to fold/unfold. Woman at Mothercare tried to tell me I was doing it wrong, so I asked her to show me and she couldnt do it either, even with the instructions........so she agreed, yes, its faulty.

Hi faddle - I haven't got time right now to read the link to the other forum, but I too originally had this problem but eventually found the solution (at least for me). You have to bring the seat into the most upright position then RELEASE the mechanism at the back, then depress and bring the seat fully forward again. The act of releasing the lever seems to activate some secondary mechanism that allows you to bring the seat further forwards. Took me absolutely AGES to figure this out and it was only on looking at the instructions for the thousandth time that I noticed that they showed this - I'd just glossed past this every time. Hope this helps in your case!!

well they have already taken it back and swapped it for a shiny new one, bit miffed though, as I have now spent 2 trips to bl**dy mothercare in Leeds which is a 25 mile round trip each time, and in my car, thats about £10 in petrol I've spent
