Loola pushchair what's your experience?

I have a mountain buggy as my main pushchair but I am looking for one that folds up smaller for taking out and about in the car. Having looked around I am considering a 2nd hand Loola.

Just wondered what you thought about it. I wanted something that is suitable from birth and can face both ways without being too bulky.

the seat is very small, my mum had 1 for her house for my DD and my sis DS, they only fit into it until they were about 12 months old and the straps are quite short too, although you can now buy the extender straps (but no good if they dont fit in seat).

Not really sure on any others that arent bulky... i had a silver cross linear freeway for 2 years, it was great but bulky,

Now i have the mothercare xcursion for DD2 (due in 4 wks) and its not as heavy as the silver cross and DD1 is 2.3 and fits in it, sleeps in it 2!

They are both either facing but not small

I wouldn't say the seat is small. Ds2 is now 2.7 and can fit in it easily, although the longer straps are better.

It is quite heavy to lift in and out of the car. I've always used my Maclaren in the car but if you are used to putting am ountain buggy in there then it may not seem too bad to you. The frame can be wobbly but I don't mind this as I like the other benefits, like front and rear facing.

I have had 2 loolas, and have sold both within 2 weeks of getting them. They feel pretty rickety, are very heavy and really wide. The basket it a PITA on the older models as the cross piece means you cant get anything in it, and the swivel wheels had a mind of their own (on both the ones I had so I dont think it was faulty wheels) I also found it really really difficult to get up kerbs. Some people do love them, I think they look nice, but the practicality of pushing it drove me nuts.
On the plus side they are cheap, compact and in plentiful supply second hand, and the seat is generous.
The pliko switch does the parent facing, and folds rear facing with the seat on, and is lighter than the loola, you dont see as many of them either. You can pick up a nice one for about the same money as a loola. just something else to consider. I've had 3 pliko (original not switch) and found them lovely to push, and they are the same basic chassis dimensions as the switch.

Thanks for the advice. Looks like I might have to have a rethink!
