Best double to keep in the car?

I have a lovely parent facing double buggy for day to day use but it's a whopping great beast and I can't get the buggy and the dog in the boot of an estate car. So I now need a more compact double to keep in the car boot/ take on holidays etc.
Ideally I want something as narrow as possible when unfolded, folds in one piece and reasonable to push. I tried a cheap tandem out in mothercare and couldn't manage to get it up a kerb even when I put my entire (substantial) bodyweight on the handle bar which has put me off tandems a bit.
Any ideas greatfully received

Phil and teds fold relatively small, same size as a normal 3 wheeler.

Babyjogger city mini double?

Maclaren Twin Techno

Phil and Teds has got me thinking. I have been looking at Maclaren type buggies but haven't been that impressed apart from the fact they fold small. Having something a bit more robust might be handy for dog walks we have to drive to as well.
Off to look at dimensions and ebay prices

I second the Maclaren Techno. But how also: DB has the Nipper Out and About 360 and that folds really flat when you take the wheels off.

City mini double fine except if you want for rough terrain, the wheels aren't great then. Folds better than anything I have ever had, easy to push, fab really. It's not super narrow (wider than my mountain buggy). Have had p&t, it's pretty heavy, several kg more than city mini or a maclaren and the nipper beats all of them for weight!
