Do I need a summer buggy liner?

I've got a Maclaren (black) and a Bugaboo Bee. Will mainly be in the UK but have a week in France in June (and an 8-month old).

They are nice to have but not essential.
Fab if you have a messy or pukey baby though!

good idea to get a decent sunshade though.
