CAN YOU RECOMMEND A TWIN PUSHCHAIR?

I have a 22 month old daughter and am expecting my second child. Can anyone recommend a twin pushchair? I was thinking about a Phil & Teds Sport? Is this a good choice?

I've had several double prams and had been avoiding a P&T as I don't like forward facing prams/buggies... I have now finally got one and I have to admit that it is very practical! (18month age difference)

It's light to push, fits in car, fits through all doorways and I don't feel daft pushing it with only 1 child in it! And it holds it's value which is good if you're not using it for long.

In hindsight, I should have got one when expected DS2 but saying that, when DS3 is walking fully, I will be using my rear facing streety again.

Hope that helps

jane powertwin, i got one very good value on netmums - also holds its value.
i think it folds smaller than my Jane Slalom. baby car seat fits into either slot (though they say only do the rear one)
and both seats are nice and high. I love P+Ts but one of the children has to compromise with a lower more inferior seat. both seats in the powertwin recline, the back one goes completely flat for the newborn.
The only thing is i doooo feel a bit daft pushing it with one child in in but apart from that it's pretty lovely

Out and about nipper double. Really light, fits in my Jazz boot, works for a newborn as well as toddler (though I have DTs in mine). Though I think it is a tandem rather than twin, and it is only forward facing.

I have heard the Jane powertwin can be a bit unstable, for eg going up and down kerbs - but haven't tried one myself.

Nipper fits through a standard sized door. We LOVE ours.

I had a jane powertwin, i thought it was easy to push and stable, the only problem i had was once when i lifted dd1 out of the front the whole thing tiped back with a newborn dd2 in the back (she was fine).

The p&t is also very good, light and easy to push. Also its easier to get through doors with than the jane.

For a side by side twin i personally would prefer a baby Jogger city elite due to it's high quality, roomy seats, brilliant sun canopy, strong roomy shopping baskets, nice harnesses, built in parent console as standard, and confort level while being light and quick to fold.

I have had lots of double buggies, because I keep convincing myself DS1 is going to start walking everywhere and not e.g. falling asleep on the buggy board.

Just got a Nipper double, and it is the best thing ever. Fixed wheel, but SO easy to push and just generally fab.

I had a phil and teds which was fine until both children got ill together and I needed to get one or other out to give comfort..So I bought an instep nipper which was brilliant. I could push it with one hand it is so light..took it off road too..no complaints..

I LOVED my easywalker duo - loved it and stupidly sold it just before I discovered I was pregnant with DC4

another vote for the baby jogger city double...have you seen how easily it folds and opens?!!also i think the lightest on the market.really comfy, quite slimline and great value.

i bought mine in a huge pram retailers and the lady said if she had another she would defo get this one

ki28 · 26/04/2010 10:44

im ordering a twin select too, crnt wait!!!

MissusRabbit · 28/04/2010 11:43

i've got an obaby sport - like a phil and teds but half the price. i love it! ds is 2 and loves sitting high up whike baby lies flat underneath.

i like the fact that when ds1 is older then it will just be a single for ds2 so i'm not forking out for another single pram.

got mine from kiddicare
