Nipper 360 or Baby Jogger double?

I currently have a P&T Sport which I love but my DD has decided she doesn't like sitting in the back.

DS is 2.9 but still likes to go in the pushchair if we are going to be out all day.

I was thinking of getting a second hand Nipper 360 double but then spotted the Baby Jogger City Mini and the City Elite and now I'm not sure which one would be best. I've not got anywhere close by that I could try them both either.

DS is 3ft2 and 17kgs so needs to be big enough for him.

Bumping becuaseI was going to ask something very similar.

I know the Nipper gets really good reviews but I went to look at both and I really preferred the Baby Jogger. It folded really well, the seats were not so bucket-like and it looked nicer IMO.

Both handled really well. Both were really light.

Hi there. We are about to buy one of the above for twin newborns.
DH went to John Lewis to test out both the Nipper and Jogger. The Jogger's seats go marginally more upright than the Nipper. Both are priced almost identically. Both equally light and fold down easily. Not a lot to choose from really!
The Nipper is slightly lighter - so we are prob going to go for that one (as will also have toddler on board on the back).

Good luck!

I have a single city elite and a single city mini too. I would go for the double city elite, it's fab. So luxurious and well made. I had a double nipper but found the seats small and low to the ground. The confort level and quality of the Bj elite are vastly better. Even the harnesses are better. Fold mechanism on baby Jogger is a dream. On the Nipper a pita more like unassembling.

I love my nipper.

Monkeymargot - the hood is strong enough to carry a toddler if he gets tired of standing - either of the dts sit on mine and dt2 is just 3 but is a big boy

Thanks for the replies.

I am veering towards the City Elite. Does anyone know how it compares width ways to the Nipper? Because I know the Nipper will fit on our buses so want to make sure the Elite would too!

Thanks again

Maybe the info would be on the babyJogger website. Or the Mothercare one as i think they stock it online?

The Elite double is only 75cm wide so should fit on the bus. I think it will even fit through my back door!

Sounds fab. Is that narrower than the nipper then? The Nipper would not fit through my front door by about 1cm! I had to fold and carry it in out each day which drove me nuts! Having said that, the elite is such a amazingly quick fold anyway.

I think my back door is about 77cm so hopefully should squeeze through. Not sure it would fit through my front door though although I've not measured that one.

Think I might buy one before I sell my P&T then I can see which one will work out best. Especially for only £269 on ebay. They are over £500 in Mothercare.

What's the advantage of the Elite over the Mini city?

Hi

I have just ordered and had delivered the baby jogger city elite double. It is a really lovely pushchair and has some of the best features I have seen and looks so comfortable. Unfortunately I am having to send it back as I am only 5'2" and this pram is too high for me, I am literally swamped by this pram. It is only 75cm wide although it does look bigger but it is so high. With the hooods forward I can't even see over it and I just don't feel comfortable with it. I am sad as like I say it really is lovely.

I am now deciding between the nipper which is 77cm wide or the phil and teds side by side which is only 73cm wide. I have been tying myself in knots lately. My only worry with the nipper is the bucket style seats as my daughter will be 21 months when baby is due.

Anyway, I hope this helps as I have only just decided today to send this pram bag and I know how difficult it is to decide. I would sat if you are over 5'6" to go for it.

Ah thanks for your message Julie.

I am 5ft6" so hopefully it would be ok. The bucket seats are what's putting me off the Nipper as both my 2 like to be sat upright especially DD.

Have you looked at the P&T Sport for your 2? I love mine, the only reason I am looking for a side by side now is because DD is 13 months and far too nosey for her own good!

I really like the idea of a side by side to be honest. I am going to look at these 2 again. I honestly couldn't fault the elite for comfort and features. Like I said don't be alarmed about it looking big though as it is narrower than the nipper.

What colour are you thinking of getting, we ordered the stone sport and it is really nice.

I wish I had gone for a side by side to begin with but we lived in a tiny village and it would of meant leaving the pram outside and carrying a newborn while chasing a 20 month old round the shop which I didn't fancy!

We have since moved though so should be ok.

It's the black, brown and beige one I'm after. I think it's an old colourway but only £249 on ebay brand new.

I also think I prefer the two front wheels rather than the one on the Nipper. Seems a bit more stable.

I hope you manage to find one suitable for you soon.
