Washing car seat covers

A quick question...

I have a Creatis car seat (goes with the Loola) but I cannot find the washing instructions.

Is is ok to put the car seat covers in the washing machine?

Many Thanks,

I have a Silver Cross and Britax car seat that both say hand wash only.

I put them on a 30 wash and then spin them. Works a treat. I also do it with my highchair seat cover.

I have done a creatis on a 30 degree delicates cycle. Dont tumble dry tho!

MrsJohnDeere · 21/04/2010 18:04

I've done Britax ones on a standard 40 degree wash. Came out good as new.

Have done maxi cosi ones, even hand washing them kills them - grrrrrrrrrrr

Octotunes · 21/04/2010 21:14

I've done maxi-cosi loads with no problems, put in a pillow case (not sure why really, just seemed the thing to do) and put on a 30 deg wash. Comes out good as new.

CarGirl · 21/04/2010 21:18

maxi-cosi cabrio? Or other ones? I've ruined about 3 of them!

Octotunes · 21/04/2010 21:58

CarGirl - Yeah, the cabriofix, never had a problem. I was really impressed at how well they washed actually, sorry!

If it makes a difference it was the 'Black Reflection' cover. I even sold the car seat on ebay after it had been washed loads and got about £60 for it!

CarGirl · 21/04/2010 22:01

Hmmm think mine were much more cotton and it was the heat sealed edges that came undone the actual fabric was okay.

Octotunes · 21/04/2010 22:14

Sounds like your cover was different to ours, I think our edges were sewn seams rather than heat sealed (I think). I'd have been gutted if I'd ruined mine, I'll hold my breath when I wash the covers on the new cabrio I've just bought!

CarGirl · 21/04/2010 22:22

Perhaps that's why the newer ones are stitched, I ended up having to stitch mine!
