Just picked up a cheep Maclaren quest at a boot sale in hope to use it for dd2 in the summer (cheep run around) but the covers have mould spots on them, is there anyway i can get it out with washing? I have already stuck them in the washing machine but they look worse .

I tried to get mildew off a buggy and failed. Mildew remover did not touch it.

I have got some mould remover from Lakeland that really worked on my bathroom tiles and ceiing so you could give that a go.

I've found that soaking in a mixture of biological washing powder and napisan followed by several days hanging on the line in the sun normally gets out the odd dot of mould, but not if there is lots of it.

Have the covers dried yet? IME they can look worse wet, but when dry look fine.

BTW how much was your bargain pushchair? (I'm always interested in people's carboot bargains!).

Ok, i soaked them in the bath in a mixture of watered down bleach, dettox and lemon cif , the seat cover looks a lot better but the hood is still really dirty. I'm going to stick them through the washing machine once more (on a hot wash) and if they are no better i will have to chuck it all away.

I bought 2 quests yesterday in hope to sell one and keep one for dd2 (by selling the 2nd one it would pay for the first one IYKWIM)

I payed 8.00 each, the other one is spotless so i might have to keep that one and dump the other.

I love boot sale bargains too (i'm addicted)

Soaked mine in a Vanish Oxy then put in washing machine, came clean.
