bee plus - has anyone got one yet?

I'm considering selling my cam in favour of the new bee plus. I just need to know how big is the seat and what is the weight restriction on it? if anyone has one, is there any chance you could measure the length of the back of the seat from bottom to top, and also, the depth of seat from the back to the front edge?

also, who has the cheapest deals on it at the moment and what is the waiting time?

My Ds2 is 30 months old and has loads more room in Bee+ compared to Bee. My niece is also pictured and the seat was lowered to fit her. The seat itself is only 1cm difference, but becuase the hood doesn't rest on the seat it gives a lot more head room

Mothercare have a 10% off code if you can wait until their stock goes online, that's the best deal I could find without the car seat etc.

crikey - how come he doesnt fit? DD is still in her cam now and she is quite a bit older than 30 months! her head is JUST touching the top part of the frame now, but she has to lift her feet to perch them on the bottom bar.
We really only need a pushchair for odd days out when she has worn herself out and needs a nap or is tired and cranky and wont walk, but I dont mind the investment as it then means I need to have another baby to make full use of it.......

If she's coming up to three do you really want to spend £450 on a pram, go and treat yourself to a handbag instead. Nothing wrong with a £60 maclaren.

well he does fit but he looks too big IYKWIM I sold the cam and brought the bee+ lol

looks like he's not far off the same size as DD in the cam actually, so maybe there is hope after all.

  • MillyMolly - I dont really "Do" handbags, or shoes for that matter, and the problem with the £60 Maclaren is 1) I dont really like them and 2) they are horrible to push when compared to a bugaboo.
And when I'm done with the bee+ (assuming number 3 isnt on the radar as yet) I will be able to sell it and get back pretty much what I paid for it.........

A friend got one a few weeks ago, we had her 3 yo in it and she looked fine.

Think she got a good deal and it was delivered really fast can ask her where she got it from

I don't believe these can be suitable for a newborn by the way. Has anyone got a baby in one?

They are not totally flat and noticed on the plus that there is a real ridge where you fold the seat down. The woman in the shop said you had to have the cocoon to overcome this which is another load of cash to spend ontop of the pushchair itself and the hood.

Also - does anyone have the cocoon? Could you use it in summer? It just seems daft, babie's don't need a cocoon in summer if it's hot, so I guess you would have to unzip the top half.

I would love to know how anyone is getting on with the plus and a new baby.

Sorry to hijack but I am considering the Bee+ (I thought John Lewis were stocking them now...?) for a newborn. I am willing to buy the cocoon as it will be a winter baby, so makes sense.

As fifitot says, anyone using one with a newborn?

Also, Sparkly, thanks for the pics - my main concern with the Bee was the thought of the toddler growing out of it (baby is likely to be tall!), but looks like that is fixed with the Bee+!

If I go for one which is still the big decision to be made, I think it'll only be used in the car with the car seat for short dashes in and out of school, rather than it being the main pram for walking around shops/town with.
You can buy sheepskin fleeces that would pad it nicely and keep the baby cool in summer, that's one solution anyway.

Good idea about the fleece actually and cheaper than the cocoon which wouldn't need for a summer baby.

I don't know if it was the way the pram was set up in JL but that ridge at the fold looked really uncomfortable.

JL has now got them in Legally

Lol fifitot I read that as John Lewis now having them in now legitimately instead of the black market in bee's they were running from the basement.

Friend has the cocoon as well, it looks nice and comfy but I don't know how long the baby would be in if for, it's even smaller than the P&T cocoon which doesn't last 6 months for the average baby.
