Hi all,

A friend recommended that I ask you lovely ladies about where to begin looking for a pushchair/pram as she said you give very good advice

I am looking for a pram that I hope will last for the first few years of baby's life but really don't have much clue what to go for. I have a few key points that I need to consider and wonder if anyone could recommend a pram that fits the bill or just generally give any advice please?

  • lightweight and not too big when assembled as we live on the 4th floor and have a narrow elevator to squeeze into (approx 60cm wide)
  • lie flat 'pram' base for newborn that can be converted into pushchair when baby is older
  • both rear facing and front facing
  • to be used mostly in city with a bit of country walking but not all terrain
  • I'm about 5ft8 and DH is 6ft2 tall
  • able to fit in car boot (hatchback VW Golf)

Budget is no more than £550 - don't mind how many wheels it has (3 or 4) or what colour/make.

Can anyone please help a clueless first time mum?

Thank you

Baby Jogger select...but no idea on prices sorry!

Or if you can cope without it being rear facing in pushchair mode then the baby jogger city mini is meant to be fab as I found out today it can have a carrycot attached to it (but may only be the new 2010 models)

Plus if you have a second the select converts to a twin buggy

a teutonia! i have the spirit s3 although i would choose a different one for city living, maybe look at the cosmo or fun? they are really good, i have wrecked a couple of front wheels and they have replaced them both times no problems-they come with a 3 year warranty! we got the carrycot and it lasted ds to 6 months and he was very long for his age, is rf or ff and has a bumper bar and spf 50+ hood.

can you tell i'm really impressed with it! we ordered online from www.pingpong-online.com/?gclid=COyGhYrWgaECFQIslAodEXmDvw as i couldn't find any stockists here at the time. the spirit s3 is big when folded and fits in my golf without having to take any wheels or the seat unit off.
