I tend to lie it on it's side. It doesn't totally avoid the problem but it does minimise it. To be honest we keep ours in the boot of the car anyway, and I never click the front wheel closed so that as I pulll it out of the boot the front wheel just drops down and I click it in place with a flick of my wrist. I got so fed up of wrestling with it in various car parks.

I saw a woman pulling hers out of the boot and having it touch the floor opened last week.

And there was me stood next to her fighting with mine

I lies in my boot on it's side. It's the only way it fits.

Ah yeah, ours lies seat upwards in the boot, it does just then drop open. I can even do it with one hand now. But it does mean we can't get a lot else in the boot now. And we've got a big Volvo estate!

I have a Polo. I can keep it in the boot but only if it lies on it's side and I don't put the parcel shelf on!

Still, there was no other double that would have even come close to fitting!!

Rested it on my foot while opening and closing while we were out earlier. Works OK - as long as my feet are clean I suppose

I rest it on where the bumper bar would be but if I am lifting it out of a car I tend to push the button just as I am getting it out and flick it as I lift.

I don't have a car though so it's not very often that I have to do that.

Can understand why it's a problem if you have it on it's side.

So the only option is to get a bigger car!
