Cheap lightweight stroller

For a 3 year old. Needs to be easy to push and robust. I would always go for a Maclaren normally but they are so expensive and I want to get a new one. Maximum spend £50.
Recommendations?

Saw one in the Tesco Direct catalogue for a tenner

Argos might do cheapos?

FlyMeToDunoon · 22/03/2010 11:47

The tenner tesco one just looks too crappy to me. I have looked at the Argos site but was looking for specific recommendations as simply buying the cheapest has proved to be a mistake in the past.have you had one you would recommend?

I have been thinking about a Chicco, as my DS seems about ready to outgrow his Graco. I haven't had any experience with Chicco, though, so am holding off until the Graco bursts!

As for getting hold of pushchairs cheaply, I saw one in TKMaxx the other day, which was a bit random, but an interesting idea. There are also NCT/local sales, where you get the higher-end stroller for less.

Might haul myself over to TKMaxx and have a shufties.

I looked at the M&P pipi other day in argos it was reduced down to £39.99 and only weighs 6.5 kg comes in lovely bright colours too. Not sure if its still on sale but normal price is reduced anyway to £49.99

nicolamumof3 · 22/03/2010 12:24

never any buggies in our tkmaxx tho dunoon

FlyMeToDunoon · 22/03/2010 13:44

Oh aren't there. I never get out there anyway. Bus service is so crap.
Will have a look at the Pipi thanks.

My mum has just got the pipi for when she looks after my nephew & I am pretty impressed with it for £39.99.

FlyMeToDunoon · 22/03/2010 20:40

The thing that puts me off the Pipi is that it is sponge clean only. Perhaps I could live with that for £39.99.

I've never cleaned our Graco except a wipe down. Do you wash your existing buggy?!

FlyMeToDunoon · 22/03/2010 21:25

Well tbh I haven't washed the covers for a while but it can be very handy to be able to do so for instance if the DC is sick or spills something like ice cream down the sides.
The maclaren covers come off so easily and you can bung them in the machine. They come up brilliantly too.
Pushchairs I have had with non-removable covers tended to get washed only in the summer when they could dry off in the sun quickly.
