Help! Compact pushchair recommendation needed please

Baby Watercress is four weeks old and my Silvercross 3D has died a horrible untimely death (it's now a two-person, five minute job to wrestle it up and down, which is impossible as I also have a toddler). The repair will cost me £70 and take four weeks, which seems nonsensical, but there you go.

Instead of getting another full-on pram type affair, it seems sensible to replace my toddler's Maclaren Techno XT (also on its last legs) with something that will see me through with Baby Watercress (my last baby).

My requirements: a stroller suitable from birth (ie reclining flat) that will fit into the boot of my very small Fiat 500. Happy to spend up to £200 or so as long as the damn thing goes up and down easily.

Has anyone any ideas? All views gratefully appreciated...

I would say a Baby Jogger City Mini would be your best bet as ticks all the above boxes!

There's some good videos on YouTube & Baby Enterprise sell them for £163 including delivery.

You won't find an easier to fold/open pushchair then the Baby Jogger

What about another Maclaren?

I just ordered a Baby Jogger City Mini this morning from Little Amigos - #182 including raincover and delivery.

Is it truly suitable from birth? It says that it reclines to "near flat", which is concerning me somewhat...

It is yes, there is a very, very slight recline to it when laid flat but not so much that it would be awful for a newborn, it's not very much at all.

And can someone please tell me reliably the dimensions of the City Jogger Mini when folded (has someone got one?)? Every website seems to say different things. Grr.

What about a streety? They do fold in a sort of umbrella shape but the length is a lot less. Similar but shorter/smaller than a bee (my friend has a bee with same car and she can't fit umbrella stroller in!!)

You can get the carrycot but ds is 7 weeks and I will happily put him in as the seat is very flat - not done so yet as am awash with prams. They were v cheap in Kiddicare I think??

I can get my Bee in my sisters 500. Can't get anything else in mind !

That's what I mean, as the Bee seat is hard obs it won't fold smaller than that wheras the streety seat sort of folds concertina style. My car boot is huge, can fit my bug cam, pliko, streety and mac in all at the same time, shame I have to put a bag over my head before I drive the car

Bugaboo Bee - Bugaboo is the brand, they have several diff buggy models, the bee is one of the models just search on Kiddicare or ebay to see loads

OK, now I feel stupid and a bit pikey for not knowing that!

Have decided to go with the Baby Jogger. Will post a message saying whether it fits in my car for future reference!

I'm posting this final comment on this thread in case anyone has a similar query in the future and does a search.

My Baby Jogger City Mini arrived this morning and I'm absolutely delighted. It fits in the boot of my Fiat 500, is incredibly easy to put up and down, is fabulous to push because it's so light, and DD2 loves it (it reclines fully so she's fine at five weeks old). I bought it from Baby Enterprise and was very impressed with the price and the service - ordered late Saturday afternoon and delivered at 9:15am on Tuesday.

Thanks to everyone who helped me make this (entirely correct) choice - I was bewildered at the prospect of trying to find one that fitted my criteria and the MN wise made it so much easier.

I had that one too, it should do you the entire duration as it's so strong and had quite a spacious seat!
