OFF ROAD/RUNNING PRAM

Anyone got any advice re. an off road pram, which has rear facing ability and you can run with once baby gets to an age when safe to run with them.
none of the uk prams will say suitable for running... so just not sure

I don't know of any stroller suitable for running that has rear facing capability. Having said that, there's a difference in having off-road capability which would most likely mean 12" pneumatic tires and jogging/running which means a 16" minimum.

There are some jogging strollers available here. I recall one mumsnetter had recently posted her BOB Revolution for sale on the "for sale" board.

There are some purpose built jogging or running strollers made by baby Jogger and they're quite often on ebay. I think the baby faces away from you and i don't think these ones have recline. They have 16 or 20 inch wheels all fixed not swivel. They are typically red, blue or purple. Sometimes with hoods often without.
You can often get them around £100 2nd hand.

I have a Baby Jogger performance series running pram - it has 20" wheels and I have been running with DS in it since he was about 4 months old (with a head hugger).

It does recline, but not flat. It only faces forwards. It isn't the lightest thing but it is amazingly easy to run with - it rolls so well, it's easy to turn despite the fixed wheel, I hardly have to break stride to go up or down kerbs or to negotiate off road terrain (I run quite regularly off road with it).

We used it for off road walks before he was old enough to be run with and I still use it for that now (am 6 months pg and running with it is just too hard) and it's great.

DS used to fall asleep in it without fail when we were running, and even now (he's 20 months) although he never falls asleep in the pram usually, he may do in the jogger.

I love it - can you tell?

It's big though (long). We have a VW campervan and it wheels straight in there, but I'm not sure how big a car you would need to get it in the boot.

Bought mine brand new and never regretted it.
