Help me choose a new pushchair! Thinking maybe a bugaboo?

Hello all,

I could do with some advice for a new pram/pushchair. DS2 is now 12 weeks and so far we have a large urban detour, perfect over the winter, a green luna, ready for summer and holidays, a black maclaren left over from DD.

I admit i don't really need one but i really love choosing and shopping for new prams

I am thinking of something not too big, forward and rear facing that is comfortable to push and looks great. I really like the bugaboos but would be unsure which to look for. The resale potential of the bugaboo is also appealing.

I had both Bee and Cameleon but found I used the Bee more often.

I'm watching as in similar predicament scratchet! Have run my first Cameleon into the ground and either going to replace with a new one (it's been fabulous!) - DC2 is now 18 mts so it will be a pushchair for a bit and hopefully then eventually a pram again for DC3. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

I was thinking whether the Bee Plus (when it comes out in June) would be a better option as cheaper, good on the bus and easier to fold - though I tend to use a Maclaren for those things right now.

Is the bee the one with the 4 small wheels? What about a fog or gecko? Are those similar to the chameleon but smaller?

if you got a cameleon and some snow wheels, you could get rid of both the urban detour and the luna. The bug pushes as easily as the luna, is a lot more stable (Luna is really bad for tipping backwards), and has a sensible sized basket. Just keep the maclaren for hols. The cam folds up small, will cope just as well as the urban detour off road (with the snow wheels on) is stylish, gorgeous to push and is sooo comfy for baby....... has the lie flat carrycot aswell.

Not sure why I don't like it as I loved dd's cam and ds has the denim one. Superb quality, folds in ine piece, dream to push etc but just don't love it. I think being tall it is too low to the ground for me and I feel like I'm pushing a doll's pram.

I have never yet come across someone with a bee who didn't really love it and think worth every penny so it must just be me

Could anyone explain the difference between the cham, the frog and the gecko and the good/bad points of each?

Is it worth buying from new or better to look on ebay?

Frog is an older Cam. Handlebar doesn't adjust as far as I know and you can't swap the hoods etc. Canvas lined hoods. Unless it was bought overseas a UK Frog would now be 2005 or older, as in the UK it was replaced with the first gen Cam (if you look on ebay you can see a twisty thing on the side of the handlebar which is how you adjust the handlebar up and down, slightly awkward - from 2008 was replaced by a new style chassis with a better adjustment mechanism). Also Cams 2005 - 2008/9 had fleece hoods etc, which I found lovely and cosy, now replaced with a tougher canvas-looking material (for a while they ran parallel). Looks more waterproof.
Gecko is slightly smaller and lighter than the Cam, all one colour, can't swap hoods, I think you can't have the big wheels at the front when you push (I don't do this anyway).
I'm sure there are other differences but these are what I have observed!
I personally don't think you could say the Cam folds up small - the folding is the big downside of all of these 3 prams (frog/cam/gecko), it is a little awkward even with free hands. That said I absolutely love it and I worry I would not like the Bee nearly so much even though I am aware of this downside.

To have the Cham you have to have reasonable boot space, no mini!!

Think i am going to look for one on ebay. DH is not impressed with the cost of a new one!
