P&T Sport - swapping modes question

JockTamsonsBairns · 01/02/2010 23:19

Was sure this must have been asked before, but have trawled archives and can't find any answers!

Had my P&T Sport for about 5 months, and have loved using it in toddler / newborn mode. DD, however, is now too big for the lie-flat bit, so it's time to swap the doubles kit to the back for her. I know the advice is to have the heavier child in the front, but DS (2.5) likes to walk from time to time - if he's jumping in and out of the main seat, doesn't that upset the balance? Would it be ok to put DD in the main seat, and let DS jump in and out of the doubles seat at the back, even although this goes against the advice?

Thanks in advance for any help x

I had the older one in the back
Provided they don't mess about it won't tip
One child in the back seat alone is unstable

I have had the bigger one in the back as i find with 2 toddlers of similar age, when looking after friends DC they fight over who sits in the front so i make them share, one in the front on the way, the other on the way back!. I've never had any trouble with the heavier one being in the back.

I think you will get away with the baby being in the back on it's own until about 6 months but then they will start to tip.

Thankyou both for the advice. DD is 6 months, so she won't be able to travel in the back alone if DS has got out to walk for a while - so I have no choice but to let DS hop in and out of the back seat while DD (obviously the lighter of the two) travels in the front? I will give it a go today to see how it works.

Thanks again.

With my P&T I let my ds1 go in the back as he would often jump in and out when he wanted to walk. I put my ds2 in the front. It was much easier if I was dropping him off a nursery and I would leave the doubles seat until I picked him up meaning I could use it as a single then.
