bugaboo bee on a plane?

A friend is bringing me a bugaboo bee from New York... am very grateful for the gift, but concerned as to how she will get it to me in London.

Do I have to pay for extra baggage as no baby will be flying with her? Is there any way I can avoid buying her the expensive bugaboo travel case? Can she pack it in another way somehow?

Has anyone travelled with the bee and can give advice....

i would get a buggy bag. we bought a techno xt for travelling and got the travel bag. on our last flight the bag came out ripped so was glad it was in the bag. worth it so that the stroller isn't damaged.

If she gets stopped by customs they will make her pay duty
