really needing to buy a new buggy for my 2year old. looked on which? and didn't find maclaren under the best buys. but everyone seems to rave about maclaren is it really that good? they are quite expensive...is it reasonable to spend that much money on a pushchair for a child who won't use it for more than a year?
what pushchair can you recommend?

I have a maclaren for dd2, its the only buggy that takes her weight. If you only want one for a year why not buy 2nd hand?

We had a chicco stroller that lasted a long time.

what chicco was it? i have heard that some have front wheels that don't grip very well?!

yes maclaren quality is great. they offer lifetime warranty re-sell v.easily easily washable covers. Easy to push, fold, store and comfy for dc! best stroller imo.

Quest currently on offer at additions/very/littlewoods etc.

It was an old chicco but similar to this

Some of the newer ones like this have the odd wheels on the front (maybe they are the ones with poor grip?).
