HOw necessary is the cocoon if I want to use the bugaboo bee for a newborn?

I have a bee which my 2 yr old loves, and we have a big fluffy Kaiser footmuff on it - I was planning to lie it flat and just use the footmuff as a cocoon, because it has a drawstring at the top that means you can sort of gather it to make it a bit more enclosed. Do you think that would work? Or do I need to get on ebay pronto and buy a cocoon?

That sounds fine.
