MN Pushchair Jury - You Decide: Should I Sell My P&T Vibe and Get a Nipper Instead?

(DD 21mo DS 6mo)
Don't drive (am learning). Walk and use trams a lot.

Vibe:

Looks great. Makes me feel a bit less like a workhorse (esp with fab new Snunkie liners ]
Pushes really easily
Never too wide for anything

But:

Find it a real hassle to fold.

**Having no storage depresses me so much. Am getting a hangbag for xmas cause have to have everything I may need immediatley stuffed in pockets. Also no room in basket for anything - and can't access anyway once ds in back.

(And this is the real problem) - I never thought I would say this but I think I may start to mind having ds in the back. He is getting to that point when he starts to interact with the world. However he does seem to love it there. I'm sure it's a case of what you're used to, but he hates it in the front and never sleeps there .

**Got my first puncture today. From what i've heard it's not going to be my first (how do i sort it??)

Main downside of the sale would be DH - the Vibe is the first new buggy we ever bought and he would not be pleased if I changed mind. Nippers are £300 new (I love having new buggy...) think i would get that back from selling Vibe second hand. (**pushchair experts, would i get more selling it as a complete bundle or in sep bits, eg footmuff, hangbag, liners...??).

Only other things I am worried about with Nipper are: The width of a side by side. I never really go to shops with it, but i would worry I'd never get down an aisle. And fitting it into boot of astra.

MNers what do you think?

Buy that tyre goo which seal punctures, worked a treat on mine.
Shopping with a side by side double can be difficult - you have to choose your shops carefully.
If you do sell, check out ebay first to see what price things are going for then decide how to sell it.

Why not get the hang bag and some panniers and you'll be sorted .

DS2 is now 2.4yo and actually chooses to sit in the back of our Sport, even though he is the only one on the buggy now DS1 is at school (I use the back seat for large quantites shopping as a non-driver).

I used to chop and change who sat in the front seat when my two were smaller, but we have a bigger age gap than you so that may not be an option.

getting hangbag for xmas. panniers dont work on the vibe unfortunatley

one of my mates older kids prefers the back seat. really, so does ds. he goes a bit bonkers in front. it really rubs me up wrong way when people critice p&ts cause little one goes in the back. but i do find myself only interacting with dd in thr front, and ds is at the age where he starting to engage. plus i would like to be able to recline him...

I have a Nipper Double and it is FAN BLOOMIN TASTIC! Dream to push (even one handed), light and easy to fold / unfold.

Sounds like you might have some goot solutions for your P and T here too though!

I see the Vibe has a 'Base Bag' that fits to the rear axle instead of the panniers - that may help increase storage.

Although I didn't check if it fits with the doubles seat on....

apparently it does fit with doubles seat but i have never been able to see how. i think it kind of sits under the doubles seat, but access would not be great.

Hmm it is a tricky one. I don't think I could cope without the panniers. I use the handy shopping list holder flap on the Sport for my purse and phone .

As DS gets older the weight range will balance out and you should be able to put DD in the front without it tipping. DS2 is 4yo and can sit in the back with DS1 in the front - I like it when their in the back because I can read their books to them etc.

I could recommend what I've been posting on lots of threads lately....get a Mini Micro Scooter - we got DS2 his for his 2nd birthday because he whizzed around on DS1's so much. He much prefers scooting to riding on the buggy.

Hi I am in exactly the same position.

Vibe has been fab but DD (4 months) now getting curious about the world and is obviously bored senseless in the back. She screams every time we put her in it. Plus I don't like how little the second seat can be reclined.

Very keen to get a nipper just got to persuade DH.

I have a P&T sport and just use one of these clips on the side of the handlebar for my handbag if I take one out and shove a small bag with nappies etc in the basket bit. DS likes hitting the handbag so works as baby entertainment too

Just an update - I managed to talk DH round and we bought a nipper on Friday. I have to say that both my kids seem much more comfortable in it. My DS (21 months) slept happily in it for over an hour today which he never ever did in the P&T. DD (4 months) is also much happier now that she can see something other than the underside of DS.

Plus, it is a joy to push. So much lighter and easier to stear than the P&T - I can even push it one handed. No problems with the extra width so far either.

I was going to keep both but am so pleased with the nipper that I'm going to get rid of the Vibe - Ebay here I come!
