Hello! Havn't posted on here yet but having a bit of a dilemma and was wondering if there was anyone out there who could help!
I've got 2 weeks until babys due buuut I still havn't got a pram! (yea a liiiitle bit last minute)
I've been looking for ages and weighing up all the pros and cons of pretty much everything available on the market and due to the size of my car boot i've finally chosen 2 that I can't decide between!
The first is the iCandy Cherry and the second is the Babystyle Oyster. Will be getting the carrycot attachment for both and they are pretty similar in spec. Does anyone have any experiance with either of them at all - any advice welcome!

i read somewhere that the babystyle doesnt have suspension?
i liked the cherry but it wasn't chunky enough for my liking,
i prefer the oyster to look at,but i wouldnt get it if it has no suspension.
try them out in the shop before you make a descision as they often look very different in real life!

yea thats the main thing that worried me about the babystyle.
i actually found a store that sold them both today, which suprised me as i didnt think the oyster was in stores yet, but driving them around the shop floor isnt a reliable test for a bumpy ride.
they both fit in my renault clio boot which is the main thing but i did have to take the wheels off the oyster.
but then the icandy doesnt have the adjustable handle or uv cover or large hood.
this is my first time at all this baby malarky and im struggling to know what the best features are!!

lol,i couldnt do without an adjustable handle,im 5ft8 and hubby is 5ft2
all the prams i've had,had suspension,i couldnt imagine not having any,
if you are due in a couple of weeks you wont really need a uv cover or a big hood,just a raincover and plenty of blankets for the carrycot!

taking the wheels off will drive you nuts in approx 6wks - I was so stubborn re not changing the pram I bougth a new car...

adjustable handle is handy but UV cover / raincover can be bouight as add-ons if you discover you need them later

yep would also say that about the wheels,

i loved my pram but hated having to dismantle it into 5 pieces to fit it in my boot!
so bought a different pram,then ended up with a different car - gutted!

which do you prefer?
how often will you put it in/out of the car? (i put it in/out about 4/6 times a day thats why it drove me mad)
are you likely to change your car?

dont really know which i prefer - was set on the cherry until i found the oyster instore (ddnt want to buy a pram i havnt seen in person) think the finish on the icandy is nicer and it kinda feels more reliable

not likely to change my car - budget wont quite stretch to that yet :P tho a few sales assistants have tried pointing me in the direction of the nearest car dealership!
not sure how often i'll be taking it in and out of the car - feel a bit lost and inexperienced when it comes to thinking about things like that!
my sister has bought me a sling aswell - so don't know which i'll be using most in the beginning. just keep confusing myself even more!!!

UV cover and large hood are really unimportant. Covers can be got fairly cheaply (keep an eye open in winter for summer stock being cleared at discount - tho possibly too late for that now), and the only purpose the hoods serve is to attach rain covers and UV covers. Oh, and when folded as places to stick things temporarily.

Having to take wheels off to put buggy in boot is a biiiig hassle. OK, some posters will say they do it 5 times a dya nd it's relly no big deal - but are you sure you're one of them?

do you already have a carseat?

i had a babasling and i loved it,i hardly used the pram at all in the first few months,

could you wait until the baby is born to buy a pram?

I love my cherry and over 2 dds Ive had a lot of pushchairs

I definitely would not get a pram without suspension for a newborn. Kerbs, uneven pavements, those bumpy tiles near road crossing points and bus stops - there are bumps to any ride even if you are just walking around town.

If you want some other recommendations (ie if both of these are not perfect) I'm sure MNers could oblige

Have you looked at the Bebecar Ip-op? It folds small, optional carrycot and the pushchair seat folds completely flat and will face either direction. Also optional infant car seat available.

Oyster certainly does have suspension, not sure where that story has come from but seen it several times on here.

I played with one and loved it!

oh i would def go for the oyster then,looks more sturdy than the cherry,
looks lovely when you see it on the website,i only seen it in RL with the carrycot on and i liked it,but it looks lovely with the seat unit,and folds really small,

with regards to taking the wheels off to fit it in the car,
with the cherry you need to take the seat unit off to fold so would prob both take the same time to fold up/put back up when taking it in/out of the car,
(i thought you had to take the seat unit off the oyster and the wheels)

No the oyster folds in one piece with it both forward or rear facing
