I got DDs 2 and 3 cheap reduced cotton blankets from Pumpkin Patch a couple of months ago and they both imediatly [oh lord I can't spell] called them their 'snugglies' and carry them around. lol
I think it's cute.
What is depressing is the two younger ones inheriting DD1's barbies and bratz dolls. I don't want them growing up too fast.

nicolamumof3 · 13/09/2009 20:35

thats right theres plenty of time for all that. no rush at all. luka still loves board books and they are 'safer' for him as he just trashes anything else if left alone. i think i need to order some more cuddlies actually from jojo..

We still have board books. Any book has value if your child enjoys looking at it and talking about it.
Mine love a lot of toys I would consider young for them but I like to clear the clutter every so often.

scattykatty · 13/09/2009 20:40

Ok so the general concensus is that I should just let DS play witht the toys he likes and not worry about what 1 person has said, right!

I took all the Mamas and Papas pictures off his nursery walls too

maxybrown · 13/09/2009 20:42

Do what YOU think is right for YOUR DS not listening to all that keeping up with the Jones' style chat. People are too quick for them to grow up.

scattykatty · 13/09/2009 20:44

Thats what I think, I think she was maybe hinting that I buy her DD too babyish presents too, as her DS mentioned later that day how the last toy I bought was thrown in a cuboard

maxybrown · 13/09/2009 20:46

well you know the answer to that one - don't buy anymore things for her! Ungrateful cow.

FlyMeToDunoon · 13/09/2009 20:47

Put the pictures back up and his rug back!

scattykatty · 13/09/2009 20:49

Yeah come to think of it I've not seen the In the Night Garden stuff I got her DD for ages, so maybe they got chucked too

I got this for her DD about 6 months ago and this is what her son said had been chucked, her DD was only about 14 months when I got it and thought it would be nice at night cos she's a bad sleeper.

nicolamumof3 · 13/09/2009 20:50

yes i would, luka's only just come out of his cot bless him.

OP posts:
maxybrown · 13/09/2009 20:51

orrr that's lovely. I LOVE all the jellycat stuff, if that was for a boy i would be happy with that for DS even now.

You do not need friends like that.

scattykatty · 13/09/2009 20:51

The pics are those Barbaby Bear ones from M&P and the rug is the Mothercare Teddy's Wash Day one, ok for a 20 month boy then? I don't want to keep them up til he's 7 but he's only 1 1/2!

scattykatty · 13/09/2009 20:54

Thanks Maxy, I've been stewing on it all day. I hate being made to feel like I'm holding him back when he's still so small.

I just want him to enjoy being a baby, it won't be long before he wants an action man or a mobile!

maxybrown · 13/09/2009 20:56

Exactly. Tell her where to stick it. Poor little mite. Trust yourself.

scattykatty · 13/09/2009 20:58

I will I'm going to put him in a babygro next time I see her and push him around in the carrycot bit of my Bugaboo and see what she says

nicolamumof3 · 13/09/2009 20:59

i bought this jellycat for Tate

we all love it he's currently (the sheep, not tate ) sat next to me on sofa) £30 but really big like a huge cushion so cuddly!!

We had teddy's wash day, and luka's just literally got out of cot with all that bedding on. I have two duvet covers (cot size) if interested?!

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 13/09/2009 21:00

yes do it!!

OP posts:
scattykatty · 13/09/2009 21:01

Oh Nicola I love that! She'd roast me for getting him a cuddly!

Ohhhh do you mean a cot/bed?

scattykatty · 13/09/2009 21:03

DS has a cot/bed thing but it's German so slightly bigger than the UK ones so the elastic corners do have to strech pretty hard! I love Teddy's Wash Day

nicolamumof3 · 13/09/2009 21:05

they are cot duvet size scatty not cot bed, they fit the ikea cot duvet im also selling. v.sad bye bye cot days. all my boys in beds now.

OP posts:
scattykatty · 13/09/2009 21:08

Oh no! Gutted! Itr would be worth getting them just to smell your washing again I'm not sure when I'll move DS into a bed, I think I'll just get a single bed rather than convert the cot to the bed as I'm hoping we'll have another DC in the not too distant future and so will use the cot for them IYKWIM

nicolamumof3 · 13/09/2009 21:13

Thats a good idea as its awful having to turf them out of their bed iykwim. Tate had to give up his cot at 20m for luka (theres 18m gap) and now tates given up his junior bed for luka.

OP posts:
scattykatty · 13/09/2009 21:16

Yeah I think it'll be easier than converting the bed, then kicking DS out into a single anyway and then changing the bed back into a cot!

5inthebed · 13/09/2009 21:33

Just typed loads and it wiped it all off

SK, put his stuff back in his room, he is still a baby!

scattykatty · 13/09/2009 21:35

Thanks 5in I think I'll let my baby stay a baby for a while longer and just take the snide comments.

I hate it when I type loads and delete it! (happens a lot to me!)
