Amazon- Newborn pram?

Hi, just looking for advice on whether anyone here has bought a newborn pram/travel system from Amazon? I’ve seen one that seems like it would do the job without breaking the bank. This will be my first baby so I am in unknown territory! Any advice greatly appreciated ☺️

Plenty of reputable brands sell on amazon but there is also some cheap chinese sweatshop stuff that I wouldn’t let near a baby personally.

What pram is it you’re thinking of?

I might buy a well known brand but much much more likely to just buy quality one second hand. Even the latest bugaboo food is about half price now and the older ones can be found for as low as £100. Bugaboo make good quality stuff that can be cleaned pretty easily and repaired or made over (again second hand!). That’s just one brand too.

I See sooo many cheap prams where the seat is tiny so the kids bursting out of it by one and the parents then have to buy again. Or they’re flimsy and they break and have to be replaced. False economy.

What about a second hand pram? 😊

What about a second hand pram? 😊

Definitely buy second hand if you want to save money. We looked and tested them in store and then check FB Marketplace. Brought exactly the same one for a fraction of the price hardly used as it was kept at grannies house and she hadn't used it much when baby came over.

I definitely wouldn’t buy a travel system with a car seat without doing proper research on the car seat safety. Babies shouldn’t be in car seats unless in the car, I personally don’t like travel systems as it promotes keeping them in the seat outside the car. I’d look at spending your money on the safest possible car seat, then get a second hand buggy separately

Thank you all for your replies. Great advice from you all. The pram in question I was looking at on Amazon is the one in the picture. I was in two minds as to whether or not I should get a separate car seat. I definitely will now after your advice 🙂

Fot the price you can do better and I absolutely would not use that car seat. Maxi cosi cabriofix is a good budget option, if you have the energy there are car seat groups in facebook who can give more suggestions (maxi cosi, britax, avionaut, cybex at a good start, multi stage car seats tend not to give a good/safe fit for newborns or big kids so one seat room birth to 4/12 is a cop out) but MOST car seats us the same adapters so don’t worry about getting a bundle as such.

MyBabiie MB200i would be my rec for a budget travel system from a reputable brand. About £50 more than that one but much better value for money.
I have a little travel stroller from them and a few friends have had various prams and buggies from them and we’ll been really pleasantly surprised by the quality of them for the price.
And you know they comply with all the british safety standards, which I wouldn’t trust an amazon off brand pram to do.

Second hand is also a great option too! You can get some really beautiful prams second hand for £200. Car seats should never be bought second hand though.

Joie are a good choice for budget friendly car seats

Cosycomfortable · 25/03/2026 15:49

Bloodycrossstitch That is what was holding me back from buying it, I wasn’t sure if it would meet the safety standards. I’m definitely going to buy a separate car seat and Joie is the brand I will go for.

I have been looking online again today and looked at the Mybabiie range and they look great, so could be a possibility (thanks for the recommendation). I have also seen the one in the picture. Looks like an absolute bargain from the original price. Is there a catch I’m not seeing?!

This. You want to be able to trust 100% that it meets all appropriate safety standards. Especially for car seats, some of the counterfeit ones have been crash tested and they snap :(

Venicci is a reputable brand. Their car seats are also fine. The "Shineey" one from amazon I wouldn't touch with a bargepole.
