So confused with strollers

Hi
my baby is 7 months 1 week old he can sit unassisted.
I want a more compact stroller due to boot space and having 2 labradors!
we have a joke travel system stroller and it is so bulky.
I don’t know whether I can use a normal stroller without a bumper bar or one with a bumper bar.
could anyone recommend a compact foldable one please?

I think as long as the child is always clipped into the harness properly, a bumper bar isn't necessary. They can be useful for clipping toys to, but not essential.

We have a cheap umbrella-fold stroller. It was about £45 from Argos. We use it for travelling and it's fine, but I wouldn't want it for my everyday buggy as it just feels a bit flimsy, extremely bumpy on uneven ground, bit of a rubbish sun shade/hood compared to my bulkier pushchair.

What's your budget? You can get things like the stokke yoyo or bugaboo butterfly which are lightweight and super compact, and I think generally seen as good quality but over £200. There are definitely cheaper options out there that are also fine.

Of course you can use one without a bumper bar. We've been using a yoyo in stroller mode since 6 months. I love it. It's very robust and has taken a serious beating. We walk at least 5km a day with it, it's stored folded and has been through a aeroplane hold 6 times already and still looks like new. The only thing it really can't do is snow.
