We have a second hand pushchair as thread title. When in lie back position as per photo big space & we haven't anything to protect newborn. Saw plastic rain cover on eBay but thought a black material cover would be needed?!? Can anyone help us as to what we need to source to protect baby when he is born. See photos! Also two loops on seat which I'm curious what they are for. Tia thank you x

Aren’t you meant to put a newborn in the cocoon rather than directly in the pram? Am trying to remember as it was a long time ago when we had one! We had a big rain cover that went over the whole pram as had a toddler and a newborn in it.
Are the loops for the little rain cover you’re shown?

You don't really need anything more to protect the newborn, they can just lie there in the reclined main seat like they would in any pram. You can use the cocoon but it isn't necessary.

There's a sun shade to cover the exposed area at the back, there is one here on ebay. But it is designed to give shade from the sun, not to protect the baby. It attaches with velcro, I'm not sure what the loops are for (we had a different model).

It was a really long time ago but I had the cocoon - didn’t use it long

The loops look like they are for attaching the rain cover in your picture. The plastic toggles on the raincover go through the loops.

I had a tiny baby so used the cocoon for a few months and was winter so they were cosy. Was also useful to lift him in and out when we were at things with his older sister. Have just looked at 16 year old photos to remind myself!

I loved my sport I had for my dc. I only got rid of it as the tyres kept popping 😭

Yep. Another one who used the Cocoon.
