False marketing by Maxi Cosi Adorra Luxe

I bought an Adorra Luxe pushchair from Maxi Cosi along with a footmuff, car seat etc. My toddler is now 18 months old and of average UK height & weight for his age. I’m struggling to fasten the harness because the crotch strap doesn’t adjust and its tight, and his head touches the hood despite the pushchair being sold as suitable for up to 4 yrs old or 22kg. I have complained to Maxi Cosi as the pushchair costs around £530 and given the way it is sold I expected it to last much longer than 18 months.

The response from Maxi Cosi was that I should remove the footmuff from the pushchair to create more room in the seat but they acknowledge my son has almost outgrown the pushchair. The footmuff retails around £100 and is advertised as suitable for up to 3.5yrs old.

If my son was a big for his age I’d accept this but he is average size for his age annd weighs 11kg, ( half the max weight they claim the chair is for) and I think it’s a total rip off and false advertising. If I’d know I’d need to buy another pushchair after just 18 months I wouldn’t have bought the product.

Has anyone else had this experience with Maxi Cosi and if so what was the outcome? Is it worth going to trading standards?

Thanks!
