Best prams

First time mum, no idea about prams

want something lightweight but very sturdy, nice to look at (not too clunky), easily foldable, comes in neutral colours (not a fan of random bright colours or black)

I love the Egg 3 but wondered if there was better out there that people would recommend?

thank you

I’ve recently brought the Mamas and Papas Occaro which seems to tick all those boxes. I was all set on the egg, but it seemed flimsy in comparison to the Ocarro when I tried them both out in store

There isn't one best pram, because everything will have a tradeoff somewhere. The Egg is a sturdy pushchair, but very heavy, doesn't fold easily (or at least for my criteria, anything with a two piece fold was out on grounds of awkwardness) and would be my definition of clunky. If you like Babystyle as a brand, their new Oyster pram has an easier looking fold and folds with the seat attached. If sturdy but relatively lightweight is important to you, then the Bugaboo Fox 5 might be a good idea because it's one of the lightest weight pushchairs which can be used for off roading. It's a big pushchair though.

Go to a big Mamas and Papas, or a John Lewis or an independent baby store (if you say your rough location, posters can probably recommend one) and try a load out. I originally thought the Mamas and Papas Ocarro was going to be the one for us but when I tried it in person, it was way too low for DH and I. We went for an uppababy vista instead, but that probably won't suit you. Have a push of some around the shop and try folding them, lifting them etc and you'll find one that's for you.
