Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Double Buggy - is carry cot worth it?!

I have an 18 month old and baby number 2 is due in May. I’ve bought the baby jogger city tour 2 double, mostly because I love how narrow it is to fit through most doors, and they can still be sat side by side. Also love how compact it folds up.

I’m considering buying the carrycot for the new baby, but at £80-90 new or £60 second hand, I’m not sure if it’s worth it.

Pros - baby would feel more secure especially as a newborn.

Cons - I’ve read they are very small and I have big babies (first was 10lbs) so I don’t expect it to last him long at all. My first was a Velcro baby and hated his buggy anyway, so basically lived in a sling for his first 3 months, I guess this one could be the same. It would also be an extra bit of kit to put in the car, but I’m not too bothered about that as we do have a fairly big boot.

Has anyone had the carry cot for this baby jogger and is it worth it? Do they outgrow really quickly?

Alternative could be a universal cocoon/carrycot type thing (something like this https://amzn.eu/d/cARSzUn )

Any suggestions/points welcome!
