Sunshade or umbrella?

So now that the weather is warm again, my 6 month old can finally wear his lovely short outfits. But when we go on a walk the bottom bit of his leg and feet stick out into the sun and I obviously don't want him to get sunburnt.

I bought a sunshade on amazon that goes quite far down but I've just tested it out and 1) it's black, won't this make baby really hot under there?
And 2) he won't be able to see anything and he will probably get really bored!

Is the only other option an umbrella that clips on to the pram? From what I remember from when my siblings were young some umbrellas were flimsy rubbish and it was hard to get them in the right position. Or do yous have any recommendations for sunshades that don't make it feel like I'm just trapping my baby in the darkness?

Suncream :)

There's a couple in Boots that are suitable for under 1year, child's farm is one of them I think from memory!

Dark colours absorb more UV so work better as sunshades

I just put sun screen on and chucked a muslin over the bare legs
