Flying with Joolz Aer Plus

Looking to get a compact travel stroller and my favourite in person is the Joolz Aer Plus. It just feels much easier to use and more modern looking than the Babyzen yoyo2. That’s said, I don’t want to spend a fortune on a travel stroller and then have it gate checked and get scratched up. We normally go on a long haul flight on Tui 1-2 times per year and based on their dimensions for carry on luggage the Joolz Aer plus is too big (though so is the Yoyo!). Any experiences or recommendations?

Most of the time it will be for an easier day to day stroller as I’m getting tired of trying to get the pram on the metro when it gets busy. But, I do want to have something versatile enough to come with us when we travel. Any experiences or recommendations?
