Bugaboo dragonfly or Fox 5 / Fox Cub?

Hello!

Our baby boy is due in September and we're in the midst of researching prams! I love the Bugaboo brand and wanted any experiences or feedback on the following prams:

  • Bugaboo Dragonfly
  • Bugaboo Fox 5
  • Bugaboo Fox Cub

I like the idea of both Dragonfly and Fox 5 for the one-handed fold and useful that the bassinet is for overnight sleeping for when we visit relatives.

We're going to be living in Surrey, so mainly suburban settings but walks too in the countryside, plus occasional public transport trips via train/tube into London.

We want a pram that is going to last us to toddlerhood and ideally not decide to sell it after a year and get a Yoyo or lighter buggy second hand.

This is why I liked the Dragonfly, but just worried the wheels are not all-terrain and worried that walks with this pram will be difficult if not on a pavement?

I like the finish of the Fox 5 and the look, however it does seem bulky and maybe less longevity as an everyday pram for suburban living due to its size.

The Fox Cub is cheaper and still looks great / is slightly lighter which I liked but not so keen on the fold mechanism and cheaper finish.

Let me know if anyone has any experiences or advice for a Surrey based mum!

I'm commenting mainly to see other people's thoughts, I'm nowhere near as far along as you (but I really love prams) and I'm also very much into the idea of the Fox 5 for this baby, it seems to come out top of all the lists. Fox Cub looks a bit spindly and I'm not sold.

We're going to go to John Lewis and have a go on them all in a few months and I'm so excited..

I have the fox cub. I love it. It’s so easy to push, manages all sorts of surfaces and regularly comes through the woods on walks. The two hand fold is slightly annoying, but not enough, to me, to warrant all the extra money for the 5. It’s big when folded in one piece (currently using bassinet). The bassinet is really big and my baby will easily fit in it until 6 months. Can’t comment on the seat unit yet.

@Sopshef just FYI, John Lewis don't seem to sell the Fox Cub! it looks like some bigger boots stores might sell it but I can't find anywhere around London (where we currently live) to try it which is annoying. You might have more luck!

I really like how the Dragonfly folds instantly with the bassinet but just worried about the wheels not being suitable for anything aside from pavement.

The other thing which puts me off which really shouldn't is that the leather handle on the Fox is 'vegetarian leather' on the Cub and the Dragonfly (I have no idea why this puts me off and I know how ridiculous that sounds!) I just feel like if you're spending that much money on a pram (they're all expensive) I'd expect the premium materials across them all.
