Has anyone else had an issue with the handle snapping on the mamas and papas strada chassis please? And how was it dealt with?

Hi! So odd that I found this, I was looking for reviews on Mumsnet for my Strada and came across your post.

The handle of my pram broke back in August - I twisted it as usual and it snapped down the middle. I was gutted but I emailed M&P, they said it's under repair warranty (didn't know I had this. Bought the pram in November 2021 and it broke this August), they sent me a box and had someone collect it. It was repaired and returned in maybe 12 days.

Ok so - we have the Strada for almost 4 years.. it’s broken several times.

First: the wheels kept wobbling but dealt with it. And MP did nothing.
Second: the brake, M&Ps fixed it under guarantee. (About 8 months or so). But they had it for soooo long. They did give us a replacement (ocada) but I didnt like it and it’s bulky. I just wanted ours back.
Third: the handle broke exactly like you’ve mentioned, cracked in the turn bit. M&P fixed as in guarantee. Just under two years. Same they took forever to fix it.
Fourth: one wheel brake does not work. (Not long after the handle broke) M&P would not fix it as out of guarantee. I agued that they had fixed it and surely it shouldn’t have broken Again. They said we can pay for it to be fixed. £50 for new part, £50 for work to be done. Absolutely not as there’s not guarantee it won't break again.
Fifth: the handle has broke again! (3.5 years) Not cracked but the sides have come away on the turn bit so it works but can get fingers nipped. Haven’t even bothered telling M&P cause they won’t care.

we bought it being a good name and thinking it would last our two children and we barely use the pram. So pretty disappointed and wish I had a warning to not buy it. I absolutely love the pram, I really do but due to the Pretty poor Materials/ workmanship it is not worth the big bucks. It only last two years because of the guarantee and fixes that clearly weren't made to last. Thankfully w have second hand umbrellas from family but it’s sad that we can’t use the actual pram I ‘liked’.

anyway - good luck!
