Baby Jogger City Mini GT Newborn Insert

Hi there,

I'd appreciate people's input on whether I need to buy a separate carrycot for the above stroller, or if a newborn insert actually works as an alternative.

We bought the Baby Jogger City Mini 2 GT double as we're having twins, and although Baby Jogger do say the pram can be used from birth, I am conscious that a lot of parents agree this is only true if you have the carrycots as an added accessory.

As it's twins and a double frame, the Baby Jogger GT double fitting carry cots are quite hard to come, even brand new (which we are prepared to pay for) but want to really know if it's necessary.

I've seen that newborn inserts can be bought for other prams with similar near-flat reclines like Baby Joggers, and wondered if this would be a suitable alternative. I've found a Babymoov Cosymorpho Travel Cushion which looks like it fits prams universally and would help keep the babies more secure.

Any help would be really appreciated xx

I had one of these a long time ago and had a soft carrycot that was actually part of another pram (sorry can't remember name) but I could clip it into the BJ. My son was not small and would have been fine in the just lay flat on his sheepskin from birth but I imagine you'll definitely need an insert of some sort for twins.

I loved the pram, the best we had (we had a few). I rate the carrycot very highly and wouldn't be happy with the insert, personally. With the carrycot baby faces you until they go front facing at around 6 months. It's more fund to see your baby and I think it's safer than the insert.
