Double for newborn and 3 year old?

Ygfgbjju · 14/01/2021 07:50

All the doubles I look at, my 3 year old will be too big for or the new born can’t lie flat

My 3 year old still needs to be able to sleep and I need it narrow enough to go through door ways

Any recommendations??

Out n about nipper double. My almost 5, tall, child still fits in no problem.

How much will they be able to sleep when they're out in the buggy if DC1 will be 3? Could you not judt get a buggy board instead?

Get a buggy board with seat

Do they really sleep in it that much though at 3?By 3 we really didn't need a push chair that much and he certainly wasn't napping in it, we just had a buggy board (which he used once!)

I’m wondering the same. We go on alot of long walks and my 3 year old often still falls asleep in the pram. We have a bugaboo with the attached buggy board / seat thing but my elder child hated it because he cld not fall asleep on it when he was tired and frequently toppled off. But equally I don’t want the expense of a double buggy that might only be used as double for a year max.

What about a sling for the younger one?

BertieBotts · 14/01/2021 13:37

Or one of the convertible ones perhaps like Nuna Demi Grow, Joolz Geo, Cybex Gazelle (I don't like this, I think it's a bit gimmicky), Phil & Ted's Sport.

Most of them come with a cocoon type carrycot if you need it.

ForeverBubblegum · 14/01/2021 13:37

Can you get a single that lies flat, but could also fit the 3yo at a pinch, then just put a sling / carrier in the basket. At 3 he'll be walking most of the time anyway, and you can put baby in the sling and push toddler if he gets tired on longer walks. In 6 months or so he'll probably be up to walking all the time anyway.

3 year old will stop napping very shortly, so I'd just get a single with a buggy board, and a sling for the odd occasion the older one needs to sit in the buggy.
