Best pram for London newborn

not that we are going out much at the moment anyway but looking for recommendations for a pram in London - small and light for getting around on the tube while still being sturdy, reliable and usable for a couple of years.

we have a middle ground budget for this - storage and ability to add one of those buggy board things for toddlers would be a great advantage,

Bugaboo bee
People love the yoyo but Imo they are too small. The bee is compact but still feels like a decent sized pram.

Thank you! I have the same question. Is the Bee more compact/smaller/better for the city than Fox 2, please? I just ordered Fox 2 but am now questioning the purchase as it might be too big. However, they are both supposed to be under 10 kg.

I have a Fox and a Bee. Love the Fox but it is wide - not great for buses and trains. Also big if you need to carry it up stairs. I got the Bee when I went back to work - wish I’d just got it in the first place. It’s so much easier to get around town. Also, my DD has outgrown the Fox seat at 2.5 but still fits the Bee well.

Thank you! Is the bee comfortable for long walks? We normally walk a lot at weekends, 10+ miles per day. Not sure if this will be possible with a baby, though!

Yes it’s comfortable to push (I do 5k walking every morning with it) although that is mainly around towns. It’s also fine around country parks that have reasonable trails - although not great on loose gravel trails. For off-road I prefer the Fox but DD doesn’t fit in it anymore - she’s tall and while she is not cramped in the seat, her head touches the hood when it’s up and you can’t put the raincover on as her legs are too long (it has an elastic at the bottom that pulls over the bottom of the seat unit). The Fox is a great pushchair but we did only really use it for a year or so.

Thank you! For the size and price, I'd expect it to last a lot longer :-( Now I'm seriously thinking of getting the Bee instead. I'm assuming you have a 5, that is what I would go for as well as I'm not sure if the upgrades of the newer model are with the extra money.

Yes I have the bee 5. The bee 6 apparently has bigger wheels which are meant to be better off-road but not sure how much difference they’d make. I’ve also found the Fox hard to steer now she’s bigger but the bee is fine. I’d recommend the official bugaboo footmuff for once they’re in the seat unit - it fits the bee perfectly and doesn’t slide down like universal unbranded ones. It’s also really long - my DD still fits in it.

I have bee. I looked at yoyo or bee. The things that swayed it- parent facing which I loved and yoyo doesn't do. Plus the yoyo felt very flimsy. I've been very happy with the bee. I live near woods and it manages OK p. rough torain but it's so light and easy to manouve on buses etc. I also have to lift it up and down stairs a lot which I can do. Ive got no complaints

I recommend the uppababy. It has a roomy basket while also a small wheel base which means it’s really good for on and off buses etc. They’re popular in New York too.

If you have to carry it up stairs to your door/expect to travel by plane then Yoyo. Otherwise the bee.

We went for the yo-yo. It’s great, especially up and down tube/train/flats stairs and when packing for holidays. Travelled for 5wks on the other side of the world with ours as well.

Which model do you have please?

We'd normally expect to travel but not this year, given the restrictions. We could get yoyo once we start travelling again, now we want it mostly for spring/summer walks. We don't have stairs and our train station has lifts, so weight is not an issue.
