Uppababy Infant SnugSeat from birth?

Has anyone used the Uppababy Vista or Cruz with the infant snugseat insert from birth? It's got a wedge to make it lie-flat but Uppababy customer service says EU/UK regulations prevent them from recommending it as a from-birth option, even though the regulations allow it in the US. The Cruz is our preferred pram but was hoping we could avoid buying a carrycot as it seems like most people don't use them for very long anyway.

We are also planning to get a car seat (Maxi-Cosi Cabriofix) for the trip home from the hospital and I guess we could use that for short zips around in the pram once baby is 4 weeks+ (taking her out for sling breaks as needed) but I feel like the lie-flat insert would actually be more comfortable for a baby...

They are launching a new snug seat that is definitely suitable from birth.
I’m on their mailing list and received an email yesterday but the link is to their US site
uppababy.com/ca/product/infant-snugseat/

Hopefully they will be releasing it here too.
