Double buggy - inward facing option

I have a 20 month old and due to have second baby in July (when eldest will be just 2). I think I'll need a double buggy.

I don't like the buggies where one child is on top of the other (as the one on the bottom can't see anything?!). So I'm looking at side by side models. However most don't have the option to turn the seat parent facing once baby has outgrown the carrycot, which i really want.

I think the bugaboo donkey has a parent facing option? But all the mountain buggies and city joggers don't?

Alternatively, what age do kids start to use the boards to stand on the back of prams?

Yes the donkey does have that option.
I had one for my 13 month old and new born. It was great when up, easy to steer, fitted through almost every door....
But for me it was mighty pain as you had to dismantle it every time you got in and out of the car and I did that a lot as I also had one at nursery and one at school.
If you are the kind of person that does lots of walking and doesn't need to collapse a lot it's great although the seats are quite small.

I had a tandem so not much knowledge on side by side prams. However my girl how is not yet 2 will go on the buggy board now. When deciding to use a buggy board I would say first try it on small journeys (as they need to get use to holding on and all that). My daughter now stands there for a good while but that depends on the child of course. When I take the buggy board ALWAYS (and I mean always) take a baby carrier in case the older one wants to sleep or just won’t stand, which sometimes happens. I also take my older with reins. I use to think it was awful tbh, but if she jumps of the buggy board I can’t run after her with the pram. This is my experience anyway. Hope it helps at least a bit.

I fully agree with at @troppibambini. It’s a lovely pram but a pain in the arse if you have to keep getting it in and out of the car.
