Second Hand Travel System

So we've got a 2nd hand travel system after me not getting on with the one we brought. This new one comes with a carry cot for newborn.

My question is, shall I have to buy a new mattress for the carry cot? I want to as obviously it's been used but am I meant to?

The official advice about mattresses has changed, they no longer say it's crucial to buy a new one, but do note to check it for rips, tears, milk stains, mould and mildew and to replace if any of those things are present.

Personally we didn't change it when we bought a second hand pram with carrycot. I felt that carrycot sleeps were likely to be in the daytime and mainly supervised, not like night time sleep which is mainly unsupervised.

If it's come with a car seat, you might want to be cautious about using that, as you'd have no way of knowing if it's been in an accident.
