Bugaboo Fox - would others judge?

We're currently choosing a pram for our first baby. The main options we're considering are:

  • Bugaboo Fox
  • Uppababy Vista
  • Nina Mixx

My in-laws are very kindly helping us buy it. The Fox seems to be the best for all our requirements but because of the price/ association with certain celebs and something one of my friends said I'm concerned that other mums might make a bit of a judgement... I'm probably overthinking it but would welcome your opinion! Also if you have any thoughts on these three options I'd love to know what you think!

I don't think anyone cares tbh.
I had a vista and absolutely loved it.

Pretty much all the mums around here (SW London) have a Bugaboo of some description. I don't think anyone would really bat an eyelid. Have a look on ebay though if you are being cost conscious. They are built to last so second hand ones are usually in excellent condition.

RandomMess · 27/12/2019 14:58

I had a bugaboo because it was the easiest to push and steer for my back problems, who cares what others say!!!

Hunkyd0ry · 27/12/2019 15:19

We have the buffalo because I wanted to use it off road. Only thing people have said is how easy it is to push. We bought ours second hand.

Honestly, nobody really notices what pram you have. Unless it is light or has a handy large basket for shopping. Then they would want it.

Buy what suits you best.

If someone judges you because of your pushchair then they're not really someone whose opinion is worth worrying about.

I always look at other people's puschairs to see what they're like in person/How the kid fits etc so people would most likely look for that reason

I don't think you will get a fox second hand as it's v new but I might be wrong. Seen loads round my way (,Also SW london) and pretty much everyone else has a cameleon (including me!) Can't wait to get back to it once DS can use the buggy board.

One thing I will say is don't get the faux wood wheels - it looks like coffee has been spilt down it lol

Mammyloveswine · 27/12/2019 22:14

The cam3 is just as good imo (have had both 🙈) but is cheaper!

I love bugaboos!

Although most people won't actually give a shit.

Thanks everyone for your replies and great advice - I managed to find a Fox in the sales reduced by 30% so I've bought that :-)

JanewaysBun · 29/12/2019 19:48

Oh that's an amazing discount!!

I had a bugaboo and hated it, really awful. I wouldn’t judge anyone else for having one though. Might think they hadn’t look that hard (much like us the first time around). But definitely no judgement.

LolaSmiles · 29/12/2019 19:55

I wouldn't judge and I don't know anyone who would pushchairs.

Actually, I lie a little. When I was pram shopping I saw that icandy do a "land rover" version of the all terrain peach. It's half a grand more expensive for a different colour and land rover written somewhere tiny. I would judge a bit there whilst also thinking it must be nice to have half a grand spare for a colour choice

Why would someone judge are they a status symbol? My daughter is older so I’m out of the loop.

Keepmewarm · 29/12/2019 20:10

It’s a buggy, no one will judge because they probably won’t even notice!

vanillay · 29/12/2019 20:19

Bugaboo is one of, if not the most, popular pram brands going at the moment.
I'm not a great fan of them but I wouldn't think anything of seeing someone else with one.

Only prams that do make me judge just a little are the mahoosive ones covered in blue or pink frills and chocking hazard charms. Particularly if they're one of the old fashioned silver cross ones.

WingingIt101 · 30/12/2019 23:12

I’m expecting our first and my Dh did loads of research. We bought the nuna mixx and it’s already arrived. Really love it - like that the handle height adjusters are at the side rather than a roller bar in the middle and I liked the materials as well as the ease of the central brake.
It steers easily and has a good sized basket so seems practical although time will tell!!

Only gripe (and its a proper first world problem!) is we ordered the aspen colours which is a light blue with tan leather. As we got the travel system bundle it came with a car seat. Car seat only comes in black so doesn’t match the rest of it and is designed to sit in the same chassis!

Can’t remember looking at / why we ruled out your other choices though but as pp say who cares what others think, go for what you like!
