Silver cross pop or pop star?

Felissia2011 · 08/12/2019 09:25

Can anyone tell me the difference between the silver cross pop and pop star? Trying to decide between the two.

Somewhere says the pop star is a little more “premium” and is more expensive, but doesn’t say how it’s better.

Someone said the hood on the star doesn’t attach at the back and is draughty.

Not sure if the bumper bar on the star will annoy me. Does it detach?

Thanks all :)

I was having this sand dilemma and went for the pop. I wanted a bumper bar but the pop star is significantly heavier (9.8 vs 7.2 kg) which was a dealbreaker for me as I was after a lightweight pushchair

I'm not sure if the bumper bar detaches but it certainly hinges open. You could probably google a manual to check. I'd be surprised if you couldn't take it off completely. I didn't look very closely at the popstar due to the weight but the hood seems drafty on the pop. However this seemed the same on all the umbrella pushchairs I looked at

You might find it trickier to get hold of a popstar as not many places other than Mothercare stock them

Hope that helps a bit

@Felissia2011 If your in and out of a car then neither Id get something like the Oyster Zero, mamas and papas armadillo etc!

If not and you prefer an umbrella fold buggy id get the pop star, the wheels are better and the bumper bar is good to hang toys on as well as when they get older if they don't want to be strapped in they wont fall out, iv had both and sold the pop to buy the pop star, but much preferred the Oyster zero as I drive.

Thank you - I went for the Pop Star in the end Smile
