Lightweight airline friendly stroller

Hi all,
Im expecting in Feb 2020 and im really struggling to find a stroller to fit our requirements! Hope someone here can help us...
I need something lightweight and parent facing that can be used from birth without a carrycot, we travel a lot so I'd like something we can take with us on the plane we've looked at a few so far but none parent face after a certain age ie Uppababy Minu and Maxi cosi Laika
I like the look of the Cybex Eezy S twist and twist + but haven't found any reviews of them or anywhere to test them out in person Confused will attach pics below of what they look like..
We also live on the 2nd floor so i thought those would be good for getting up and down the stairs easily
Tia for any suggestions or reviews on this one Grin

I haven't used the Cybex but have you looked at the Babyzen Yoyo?

Mamatobe2020 · 19/09/2019 00:52

No because the yoyo isn't parent facing

The newborn pack is parent facing. The 6+ is forward facing when they're quite kenn to see what's going on anyway.

You will be hard pushed to find lightweight and baby facing, it’s a combo which is seemingly impossible.

I will recommend the Armadillo flip XT though (got to to be XT, the original does not parent face).

Bought ours as a travel system in 2016. Comes with Cubex Aton Q car seat.

Man I LOVEDDDDDDD ours and it went on and off planes and ferries to the continent. Had to sell it as it doesn’t convert to a double.

It lies flat so can be used from birth but the travel system came with the carry cot.

Dunno if you’re in London but this is s good deal even if it doesn’t come with a cozy toes.

Heaps on gumtree too. Nothing wrong with second hand by buy the car seat new. Compatible with Maxi Cosi ones I think.

Yo-yo is parent faxing I have it

MindyStClaire · 19/09/2019 06:35

People do rave about the yo-yo, but I've never used one so can't comment.

You might find you need to buy two buggies - one for day to day and another lightweight one for travel.

Shmithecat2 · 19/09/2019 06:42

The Yoyo is fab. I've never had the newborn pack but that does parent face with a carry cot, although only up to 6 months.

The Bugaboo Ant is marketed as a hand luggage size stroller, and faces both ways, and lies flat in parent facing mode, so suitable from birth. This could be an option for you, albeit an expensive one and again, it may not comply with some airline's hand luggage dimensions.

OP, don't assume that all 'hand luggage size' strollers actually are - for example, BA accept the Yoyo as hand luggage, but Thomas Cook don't. Each airline has it's own rules on the dimensions/weight of hand luggage that's allowed on board.

MindyStClaire · 19/09/2019 07:22

It also depends what kind of flying you do. A friend's husband works on another continent so she flew long haul regularly by herself with the baby. She chose a travel system with a car seat that could be taken on planes and booked a seat for the baby.

saywhatwhatnow · 19/09/2019 08:13

Also recommend the yoyo. Didn't have the newborn pack but it looks great. Mine went in it forward facing at 12 weeks now and again when travelling and was fine.

The new bugaboo looks good, not sure if it's cabin sized when folded though.

Mamatobe2020 · 19/09/2019 22:47

Saw a video on YouTube reviewing the Bugaboo Ant as abysmal so i don't want that and the yoyo isn't parent facing Confused a newborn pack doesn't equal parent facing.
Think I'll order a cybex to test out i can always return it if i don't get on with it
