Babyzen Yoyo vs GB Pockit

Debating the Yoyo vs the Pockit for travel

The Pockit looks so flimsy and worthless if it rains but it's 1/3 of the price
Secondhand both seem to hold their price unlike most other pushchairs

Any thoughts?

Can't speak for the Pokit but we bought a yo-yo and it's been ideal. Can't rate it highly enough. Well worth the money

Thanks

Have you had any issues taking it as hand luggage?

We have yo-yo. It’s amazing and did our long haul travel perfectly. No issues taking on plane as hand luggage, most of the staff would look, realise it was a babyzen and say ‘oh they are fine’.

It’s great to have with you for flight changes and all the way through security to the gate etc.

Have recommended to everyone I know!

Have the YoYo, love it. You do run into issues if it’s a very small plane as it won’t go in the overhead lockers. On one Swiss air the flight wasn’t full so cabin crew put it between 2 seats in an empty row, on some US domestic shuttle routes we’ve had to gate check it. But 99% of the time it’s fine and I’ve never had a problem with BA/EasyJet in Europe. I even wheeled it down the aisle of the plane last month as DD was asleep! Just remember it counts as your piece of overhead luggage if the baby is booked on your lap.

Another vote for the yoyo here. We live abroad and use ours everytime we fly and have never had any issues. Just bought a nice new Colour set and mozzie net and parasol for our summer hols. Highly recommend them.

Don't have the yoyo but a few friends do and it seems really good. I have the original gb pockit, (without recline but toddler sleeps fine in it ) . It's good for urban use and travel with a toddler. Very slim line, light.
I think the yoyo is probably more versatile.
I guess it depends on what you need it for, if it's occasional, light use Pockit would be fine, if you intend to use it more frequently invest in the yoyo.

Thanks for the replies
It will just be for travel especially airports

I got a Pockit and was very pleasantly surprised. I have a "universal rain cover" (which fit over my previous Maclaren) and I have been able to pop it over the Pockit very easily -- the sunshade holds it up off the child.

I got mine for about £90 on sale and it's amazingly easy to fold down into a cabin-baggage-sized cube. Although the Yoyo may be more hardwearing for every day use, I'd 100% recommend the Pockit for travel -- I use it a lot more than I thought I would, including for the school run on days when DD doesn't need to nap in it (it doesn't recline).

Thanks, the pocket is so much cheaper

How easy is the fold?

OP posts:
IrishMamaMia · 26/07/2019 12:48

The extra small fold takes a bit of practice (I am a bit on the clumsy side though) . For the plane I bring reins for toddler, as you need both hands.

Thank you
