Hi all,

We are going to be given an 11 year old icandy Apple 2 Pear pushchair. Apparently it comes with all the necessaries (carry cot/car seat) and it's in really good nick! We are expecting our first baby and I guess I wondered, what are your thoughts on such an old hand me down, even though it's in good shape (safety wise), what are your thoughts on this model in general from birth and which age can you use it until?

Thanks in advance :)

If it's in good nick the pushchair should be great. Where have they been storing it? I'd be wary if stored in a loft or garage as you won't want to put a newborn in a mouldy carrycot.

Regarding the car seat, I think technology of infant carriers has come on over the years so I'd get a new carrier compatible with the chassis, but I am particularly fussy about car seat safety as we do a lot of car travel.

I would buy a new compatible car seat for it, assuming it's the same age as the pushchair but otherwise the pushchair itself should be fine. I had one and I liked it over a side by side double. Familiarise yourself with all the connectors and which combination suits you/your children. It's quite big though, what car do you have?
I used mine for longer days out when eldest was likely to get tired from walking, probably until just before 3rd birthday.

I think, looking at it, it's an icandy apple, which I think, doesn't exist anymore. It's been stored really well and is in the original box. I did have similar thoughts about the car seat so yes, I will definitely look in to that.

Thank you!

Argh!! It's so confusing trying to place the exact model! Wish I could post a photo to show you, haha. Just need to be patient and wait ill I actually see it the research the model number/safety/attachments.

Thanks again!
