Should we go for the Cybex Balios S?

Hi lovely mumsnetters. I am well on my way to becoming a first time mum, and am looking for a light-weight pushchair that's a good all-rounder, hopefully to see us through from birth to the toddler years. We have almost settled on the Cybex Balios S, but before committing I wondered if anyone has any good/negative experiences with it to share please? Thank you :)

Jemma there are loads to choose from. It takes maxi cosi adapters so literally any seat by maxi cosi, cybex, joie, Kiddy, recaro, and a couple of other brands I forget. You can't put a Britax, Cosatto, silver cross, graco or own-brand (Mothercare, kiddicare) seat on it. Most others will go.

Oh and although we went for a different buggy we got the cybex aton 5 and DS2 looks really secure and comfortable in it.

Maxi cosi car seats used to be top in terms of safety, however I am starting again after a 12 year gap Shock so things may have changed.

@kmatkins saw it again today and totally nailed the fold. Thank you for your help! Spot on. Still not sure about it as it doesn't feel as sturdy as the uppababy. But I feel like I've given it a far chance now.

I also had a 10 year gap! It's a minefield, isn't it? Maxi Cosi are still excellent for safety, however I do think they have capitalised on their good name and are overpriced compared with other brands, unless you're able to find them in a bundle somewhere. Kiddy, Cybex and Besafe are all excellent for safety (and Britax too but they have different buggy adaptors, and don't work with the cybex pram).

One difference now is that the ADAC test ratings (what Which? use, apparently) are available online. The site is German but you can translate it using Chrome - or it's fairly self explanatory. The safety rating is "Sicherheit".

I know this is an old thread just wondered if anyone that has the cybex balios s has a problem with the harness. I have a 5 month old and the buckles on the harness seem to be right by the side of his head. The harness is stuck down and I don't feel he is comfortable. Does anyone else have a problem with the harness?
