Cheap small double buggy?

I know I’m probably asking for too much but are there is a cheap narrow double buggy? I have a mountain buggy duet which I love but it’s a beast for taking on public transport so I want a second pram.

All the cheap side by sides I’ve seen are wider than the mountain buggy so don’t work because I couldn’t get it through my front gate. The cheap tandems I’ve seen look awful to push and one child is squished and can’t see anything. I like the Joovy Caboose but it needs a proper second seat so my toddler can nap. Any ideas?

I've got Joovy Caboose, it's great for my 11 month old and 3.5 year old. I haven't got one but you can buy an additional seat conversion thing to pop into the back and make it into a proper forward facing seat rather than just the rear facing bench seat.

It's a bit of a beast to push at times but think that's the weight of the kids! I'd be lost without minw

Just reread your post - not sure how handy the Caboose would be on public transport - it's quite long.

Thanks. I didn’t realise you could get a proper seat for it. I stalked saw someone with it today and it didn’t look too big but you can only tell when you’re pushing it really and nowhere seems to have a lot of doubles to try.

Graco trekko duo can be found second hand cheap and is sturdy, lovely to push and the bottom seat has lots of room.
Outandabout nipper is brilliant buggy and slimmer than most of the side by sides.

Out and about nipper is fab. Second hand ones are cheap and they are very sturdy.

I'm not sure you'll get narrower than the MB Duet (is yours definitely the Duet and not the older Duo, which was wider??) - its wheelbase is narrower than most singles or tandems such as a Phil & Teds.
And it's blooming lovely to push / lift up kerbs compared to most others. I miss mine (DC are 8 & 6 now)!!

ultimate cheap double is Joie Twin in Argos. I've a similar in a Graco Duosport. It fits most standard doors. Mountain buggy so not cheap ditto Phil & Teds x

Graco are so easy to fold, store, move and get in ya mpv

KendalMintCakey · 11/04/2018 21:46

if you want to get a car seat in too then we had the Joie Duolite twin x

LadyCoulter · 11/04/2018 21:53

Yes it’s the duet. I explained myself badly - the width of the MB is perfect but nothing wider would work. But it’s so big generally - it’s the depth I suppose? It is lovely to push and it’s perfect if I’m walking but not so good for buses or getting in and out of the car.

I’ll have a look at the Graco. I’ll only need a double for a few more months so maybe i’ll just have to put up with it.
